iver Gardens website

The Friends of Belper River Gardens is a voluntary non profit making group formed to assist the regeneration of the gardens.    The group also organise and run special events where possible and help with the maintenance.   We are always seeking new members, if you are interested please contact our Chairman Trevor Griffin on 01773 821920.


We hold regular working parties about once a month on Saturdays or Sundays between 10am and noon from spring to autumn. Everybody welcome. Further details from Trevor above. 

Larks in the Park Concerts are organised by Belper Town Council on most Sundays from the beginning of June to the end of  August in the River Gardens. See Calendar for this year's events.

  • Upcoming Work Party

    2017 Scheduled Work Days
    SATURDAY, 24 JUNE - 10AM TO 12PM.  We will remove weeds, plant 24 plants, place the lining barrier and cover with broken slate.
    Please bring work gloves, sensible footwear and some appropriate tools.  Please advise Trevor if you are able to help on Saturday.

  • 2017 Work Party Dates



The next meeting of the Friends of the Belper River Gardens is dated Monday, 24 July at St. John's Chapel at 7pm.  

This is a special meeting with the Belper Tearooms Association to discuss if and how our two organizations might be merged.  

Please plan to attend this meeting, and if that is not possible, make your views known, if you have any, on this issue.
